Rocking for the King

Jan 20, 2007 by KMH in News

Welcome to KingdomMetal.com!

We plan to use this site as a platform to celebrate, relive, and honor the bands, the concerts, and the all-around good times brought to us in the genre of Christian heavy metal music. We’ll be posting articles and content aimed at:

  • chronicling the music, the hits, and the tours of Christian metal music’s “golden era”
  • keeping tabs on where Christian bands are now
  • keeping you up to date on new recordings
  • finding and posting new methods of getting your hands on out-of-print and rare Christian classics
  • involving you, the reader, in discussion and fact-finding.

We’re using a platform that permits user-participation — primarily through comments. Please use the comment forms — there’s one for each and every post — as a way to provide feedback and draw our attention to stuff we may not have seen. (But also feel free to e-mail us if you prefer.)

We plan to become the premier source of news and information about hard Christian music on the web. Both past and present. We also want to locate “official” sites for the bands that have rocked us through the years. If you’re a past or present band member or a fan with information, we’re counting on your help.

For more on the site, be sure to visit the “About” page.

Enjoy!

    Nathanael,

Thanks for your wishes for “Shalom.” Let me first send ‘em right back at ya.

Now then, you’ve got to be given a big pat on the back for learning to use all those extended ASCII characters so well. That comment must’ve taken FOREVER to type.

As for God the Father not having any delight in rock, well, you’re just plain misguided. But we all get that way sometimes, so no hard feelings.

God is peace, yes. No question. But He’s also a sword. He’s a consuming fire. He emotes. He burns with passion. He ROCKS.

Is there a spiritual component to music? Certainly. Does the enemy use certain musicians as distribution methods for his crap? Sure. But you’re re-introducing the question of whether a style or form of music in and of itself is evil. And that, my friend, is a foolish question. It reminds me of King David’s wife who judged him for his form of dance.

God created music, and takes pleasure in our participating in the enjoyment and creation of it. Whether for you that’s an acoustic guitar and a flute (maybe with some nice elevator music strings in the background)… or a heavy metal ax with the accompanying rockers… enjoy it. For Him, and for you.

    All The Best,

    The Kingdom Metalhead

I think everyone has a different level of conviction. It is a personal thing.I was into hardcore(for the day) bands like Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Queenryche, before I found Christ, and I was convicted to stop listening to Metal for many years. I think it was God developing me in a different way, and he needed me to lay it down during this particular season of my life.
I am again into Metal, really more so than before, and I am 42!
I like bands like Mortification, Strong Arm, Demon Hunter,Pillar,Kutless. P.O.D., and of course all the Classic Christian , and glam metal….from the later 80′s and early 90′s. God has often ministered to me through metal bands like P.O.D, and Pillar, Thousand Foot Crutch…etc……..even some non Christian bands too,( LifeHouse, The Fray, Matchbox 20,Three Doors Down, Hoobastank) God can meet you where you are, if you open yourself up to Him. His Power is far reaching, limitless, He can reach you anywhere you are!!!!! He is AWESOME!
