Classic Christian Metal Bands: New Christian Metal Releases
Jan 22, 2007 by KMH in Christian Metal CDs
In stark contrast to the theory that Christian metal is dead, here are some exciting (somewhat) recent recordings you should know about!

Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. From all accounts this is heavy. Should be a great one from an all-time favorite band. The Thompson brothers (Dale & Troy) are always reliable for hard-hitting messages and serious hard music. You can order it from Bride’s website. Tell ‘em the Kingdom MetalHead sent ya!

Jet Circus Look at Death Now
2005
Our favorite rockers from Sweden are at it again!! This one is already on its way to me, and the samples from the band’s website are sounding good! Read some interviews with Ez Gomer and order this one at the Jet Circus website. There’s even a dance remix disc! (By the way, if you’ve never experienced Jet Circus, their newly-remastered classic disc “Step On It” is an absolute must-have. This is European hybrid metal at its absolute best. These guys are amazing musicians. And they ride Harleys. It doesn’t get much better.)

The later 80’s and early 90’s was such an awesome time for Christian metal. I was not as into it then as I am now, because I wanted to get away from metal since I was hard core into it B.C. ( Before Christ) with bands like Metallica,Ozzy, Queenryche, Dio, Iron Maiden….Etc…….
I love Mortification, Bride, Stryper, Micheal Sweet, Strong Arm, Tourniquet,Novella, Deliverance,Demon Hunter…etc……….
.Underoath and Demon Hunter are so hard core it is sometimes hard for me to believe they are really a Christian band! Hey Holy Solider has gotten back together and going on tour again( Check out their myspace page)
Thanks for keeping metal alive!

I found some info on the band Novella. I have been wondering for years what happened to them, and what they are doing now. There is a fan page on myspace(www.myspace.com/fansofnovella) that gives some current info on John Spinola(bass), and Adam Gibson (drums), I actually emailed Adam today, and he emailed back with some info on Jonathan Pagano. He has an investment company called The Genesis Group,he is a registered Investment Advisor Rep with a bachelor’s degree in business,….. and he is completely bald! ( I think he shaves his head) I emailed him also…. can’t wait to hear from him.

Dee,
Great to have you here — and nice work on locating bands! Novella has always been one of my all-time favorites. I emceed a Novella/Bride show in Tampa FL many years ago and chatted briefly with Jonathan after the show. What I told him then is still true today — his lyrical content is unmatched in terms of its depth and its poetic qualities. He’s the real deal.
And… I can’t blame him for shaving his head — I went that route earlier this year and I love it. But for me, it was by necessity. There wasn’t enough hair left on top to keep up the charade…
Peace
